Artisan supports two ways to start printing: on Snapmaker Luban (hereafter Luban) or on the Touchscreen.
If you've placed the machine somewhere far from the computer and your machine can be connected with Luban via Wi-Fi networks, we recommend starting printing right on Luban so that you are able to monitor and control the printing process directly on your computer and don't have to go back and forth.
No matter how you start the printing, pay close attention to the first layer adhesion so as to detect problems in time and avoid wasting filaments. In case of poor adhesion, see to troubleshoot.
You can start printing on Luban via Wi-Fi networks or the provided USB cable if the G-code file is generated on Luban. In general, we recommend the Wi-Fi method. If there is no Wi-Fi network or USB Flash drive available, you can try the USB cable as a last resort.
To start printing on Luban via Wi-Fi:
For detailed instructions, see Preparing the G-code File.
If the Wi-Fi network becomes unstable or disconnected during printing, the ongoing job will not be affected. you can still control the printing and adjust the parameters on the Touchscreen.
To start printing on Luban via the USB cable:
If you've never installed the CH340 Driver on your computer before, download the driver from our Support Center and install it.
Connect Luban with the machine.
a. Connect the Controller with your computer via the provided USB cable.
b. Lauch Luban, click Workspace, and select Serial Port in the Connection panel.
c. Click the Refresh button and select the port of your machine in the drop-down list.
If you can’t find the port, replug the USB cable and try again.
d. Click Connect.
Prepare the G-code file.
a. Click Back at the top-left corner, and click 3D Printing to enter the 3D Printing G-code Generator.
b. Generate the G-code file on Luban.

c. Click Export > Load G-code to Workspace.
In the pop-up Preview window, click Start Job > Start on Luban to start the printing. If you have accidentally closed the Preview window, you can also click Start on Luban in the G-code Files panel.
If the USB cable is unplugged during printing, the ongoing job will be stopped immediately and cannot be resumed by replugging. Also, you cannot control the printing process or adjust parameters on the Touchscreen, of which the function is sustituted by Luban in this case.
There are two ways to send the G-code file to the machine and start printing on the Touchscreen: via Wi-Fi or a USB flash drive. You need to generate the G-code file on Luban if you go with the Wi-Fi method.
