A mass of filament (namely, a blob) accumulates around the nozzle.
The hot end must be installed correctly. Otherwise, the machine will not be able to start heating.
When removing, take special care around the thermistor wire and the heating rod.
To prevent any burn injuries, it’s recommended to wear heat-resistant gloves during this operation.
If the blobs are really difficult to remove or if the nozzle or the hot end is damaged beyond repair, you can detach the hot end and replace it with a new one.
For how to detach the hot end of the Single Extrusion Module, refer to this page.
For how to detach the hot end of J1/J1s, refer to Replacing the hot end.
For more specific removal of blobs on Snapmaker2.0, please refer to What should I do if there is a blob on the nozzle?
Before each print, make sure the build plate surface is clean.
Improve the first-layer adhesion and pay careful attention at the start of the print, as this is when most blobs occur. To learn how to improve adhesion, refer to Poor first layer adhesion.
Use quality filaments and store them properly. For more information about filament storage and drying, refer to Filament Storage & Drying and our Academy article: 3D Printing Filament Storage and Drying: Why and How.
