You can update the firmware of Ray either in Luban or by using the microSD card.
When new firmware is available, Luban will notify you to update once connected to the internet.
¶ Before You Start
Connect the machine to Luban.
¶ Procedures
- Download the firmware from the Support Center to the local directory.
If you are using the 2W Infrared Laser Module, update the firmware of Snapmaker Ray to at least V1.7.4.
- In Luban's Workspace, click Firmware in the top menu bar.
- Browse and select the firmware downloaded, then click Upgrade.
You can also check the current version of the Ray firmware in the same window.
¶ Tools and Accessories Required
- microSD card reader × 1
¶ Procedures
- Remove the microSD card from the machine and insert it into the card reader.
Do not remove the microSD card while the machine is receiving files or performing tasks.
- Insert the card reader into your computer.
- Download the firmware from the Support Center and copy it to the microSD card.
If you are using the 2W Infrared Laser Module, update the firmware of Snapmaker Ray to at least V1.7.4.
- Shut down the machine and wait until the indicator light is completely off.
- Insert the microSD card into the machine and restart it. When the indicator light turns blue, the machine will start updating the firmware of the integrated controller.
- Wait until the indicator light turns white, meaning that the update has been completed.
- Remove the microSD card from the machine. Repeat steps 4-6 to update the firmware of the laser module.
