This guide provides a detailed, step-by-step process for replacing the hot end heating board and hot end 5P cable on the Dual Extruder of the Snapmaker 2.0 and Artisan models.
When removing or reinstalling the Dual Extruder, please make sure the machine is powered off. To avoid any issues, be careful not to plug or unplug anything while the machine is on or accidentally connect things the wrong way.
Using an H1.5 screwdriver, carefully remove the four screws securing the old top cover.
Utilize an H2.0 screwdriver to take out the four screws located at the back of the dual extruder.
Gently push the internal module out of the outer casing to gain access for further steps.
Use an H1.5 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the hotend heating board, and then take out the hotend heating board along with the hotend 5P cable.
Pass the hotend cable through the gap in the middle of the extruder bracket, then tighten the mounting screws of the hotend board.
Ensure that the hotend board is installed close to the extruder bracket, as shown in the image below; otherwise, there may be issues with the hotend connection.
Following the disassembly steps, carefully reinstall each module and screw to complete the process.
