The XY work origin corresponds to the (0,0) coordinate origin in Luban. The machine will only perform tasks in the expected area if the two origins are set consistently.
You can change the position of the coordinate origin in Luban's Job Setup.
For example, if the origin position of a project set in Luban is the center of the workpiece, you should set the work origin at the center of the workpiece as well.
¶ Set on the Touchscreen
You can set the work origin for 3-axis laser tasks on the Touchscreen of Artisan in two modes.

| Basic Mode | The Touchscreen will only display the Control panel for you to control the toolhead to move to the desired position. | For tasks that do not require precise positioning on the material. |
| Advanced Mode | Besides the Control panel, the Touchscreen will show the real-time work coordinates of the toolhead in each orientation. | For tasks that require precise positioning on the material. |
¶ Procedures
- Select the G-code file and tap Next to enter the laser job preparation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the laser height, then tap Next.
- Tap the top-right corner to select the Mode.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set the XY work origin.
