By adjusting the laser height, we mean adjusting the Z-axis height of the laser module to ensure that the laser is best focused during machining, achieving optimal engraving and cutting results.
There are two modes to adjust the laser height for the 4-axis laser machining on Artisan. You can select between them by tapping the top-right corner during the laser job preparation.
The selection you make will be saved for future tasks.
If you have calibrated the central axis and know the thickness of the material, you can use this mode to adjust the laser height.
As the focal length of the 10W/20W/40W Laser Module is fixed, the machine will automatically adjust the Z-axis height of the toolhead during the task to ensure that the focal point falls on the surface of the material, based on the offset of the central axis and the input material diameter.
The Input Diameter mode is selected by default.
As the focal length of the 10W/20W/40W Laser Module is fixed, the machine will automatically adjust the Z-axis height of the toolhead during the task to ensure that the focal point falls on the surface of the material, based on the Z-axis offset of the toolhead when it touches the surface of the material.
