The Artisan and 2.0 Enclosure features a hall switch to detect whether the door is opened or closed in real-time.
After Door Detection is turned on, the machine will stop operating or end the calibration process immediately whenever the hall switch has detected that the door is opened.
If you need to open the door frequently and do not want the ongoing task to be paused as the door opens, you can disable Door Detection before starting a task.
¶ Before You Start
- Assemble the Enclosure as instructed, especially correctly inserting the hall switch cord into the Enclosure converter.
- Connect the Enclosure to the machine by inserting the Enclosure cable to the correct port.
¶ Procedures
¶ On the Touchscreen
Tap Settings > Enclosure > Settings and turn on or off Door Detection.
- On the Touchscreen, tap Settings > Enclosure.
- Toggle on/off Door Detection during 3D printing or CNC carving and cutting processes.
For Artisan, Door Detection for laser tasks is turned on by default and cannot be turned off.
Whether Door Detection is turned on or off, you must wear the CNC safety goggles before opening the door during a CNC process.
To resume operations paused or stopped by Door Detection, you need to close the door first, then tap the Start icon on the Touchscreen to continue the job or restart the calibration process.
