Printing area refers to the maximum build volume or the physical dimensions of the space within which the 3D printer can create objects. This area is defined by three dimensions: width (X), depth (Y), and height (Z). These dimensions specify the limits of how large an object can be printed.
The dimensions of the printing area of Snapmaker Artisan and Snapmaker 2.0 are listed in the following figure:
The size information for Snapmaker 2.0 is relatively complex as it depends on whether quick-release mounts and reinforcement components are installed. For more information, please refer to this article.
Machine Model | Nozzle | Dimension of the Printing Area (W × D × H) |
---|---|---|
Artisan (with Artisan Dual Extrusion Module) | Dual Nozzle | 350mm × 400mm × 400mm |
Left Nozzle | 375mm × 400mm × 400mm | |
Right Nozzle | 400mm × 400mm × 400mm | |
Artisan (with 2.0 Dual Extrusion Module) | Dual Nozzle | 350mm × 370mm × 400mm |
Left Nozzle | 375mm × 370mm × 400mm | |
Right Nozzle | 400mm × 370mm × 400mm | |
2.0 A150 | Dual/Right Nozzle | 135mm × 140mm × 110mm |
Left Nozzle | 145mm × 145mm × 110mm | |
2.0 A250/A250T/F250 | Dual/Right/Left Nozzle | 220mm × 235mm × 210mm |
2.0 A350/A350T/F350 | Dual Nozzle | 310mm × 325mm × 290mm |
Left/Right Nozzle | 310mm × 330mm × 290mm |
Snapmaker J1/J1s has four print mode. The dimensions of printing area under each print mode are listed in the following figure:
Machine Model | Print Mode | Nozzle | Dimension of the Printing Area (W × D × H) |
---|---|---|---|
J1/J1s | Default Mode & Backup Mode | Left/Right Nozzle | 300mm × 200mm × 200mm |
Copy Mode | Left/Right Nozzle | 160mm × 200mm × 200mm | |
Mirror Mode | Left/Right Nozzle | 160mm × 200mm × 200mm |
In 3D printing, first layer adhesion structures, such as skirts, brims, and rafts, will also occupy a portion of the printing area. Here is how they are calculated in Luban:
- Skirt: 7 + Skirt Line Count + the size of the nozzle
- Brim: Brim Line Count + the size of the nozzle
- Raft: Raft Extra Margin
- None: 0
Then to determine the true printable area, you need to subtract the space occupied by the these adhesion structures from each side of the printing area in the XY directions.
If you need to modify Skirt Line Count, Brim Line Count or Raft Extra Margin, please go to Parameters > Initial Layer Adhension > Build Plate Adhension Type.
