Snapmaker U1 adopts a region-based activation system, where each printer is assigned to either the Mainland China version or the International version during initial activation or registration, based on its original shipping destination.
This system ensures alignment with regional cloud infrastructure, account services, and after-sales support frameworks, while also supporting applicable regulatory requirements and ensuring consistent service quality across different regions.
Starting from June 2026, all newly shipped devices will adopt this region-based system as part of the standard configuration to ensure consistent system behavior and service experience across all supported regions.
There is no difference in hardware or core printing performance.
The differences are limited to cloud services, account binding, and regional service availability. These differences are implemented to align with local infrastructure and ensure consistent service delivery within each region.
For example, Mainland China version devices are designed for use within Mainland China, and cloud services may not be available when the device is used outside this region.
Devices shipped to Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan are assigned to the International version.
The assigned version is determined based on fulfillment configuration and original shipping destination at the time of order processing.
Cloud service availability and account features may vary depending on regional infrastructure and service deployment.
No. The region assignment is determined during initial activation based on the original shipping destination and cannot be changed after activation.
Core printing functionality is not affected.
When a device is used outside its assigned region, cloud-based services may not be available, and certain online features may be limited or unavailable.
In such cases, a system notification indicating region mismatch or limited cloud access may appear on the device screen when attempting to connect to cloud services.

No. The printer can operate normally using offline workflows.
Cloud-based features such as remote access, online services, and synchronization functions require cloud connectivity and will not be available when cloud services are not used.
Yes. The U1 supports offline printing via USB flash drives and LAN connectivity, allowing local printing and device control without cloud connectivity.
LAN functionality is intended for local operation and does not include cloud-based features such as remote access or online synchronization.
Snapmaker does not support or recommend modifying firmware or system configurations to bypass official regional settings.
Such modifications may affect system stability, security, and service eligibility.
Damage or malfunctions caused by unauthorized firmware modifications or third-party software may impact warranty coverage depending on the nature of the issue and case review. Each case will be evaluated individually in accordance with warranty terms.
For safety, stability, and optimal performance, users are strongly recommended to use official firmware and software only.
No. Software updates are consistent across all regions. All users receive the same firmware and software updates, regardless of region.
No. Printers purchased and activated before the implementation of this region-based system will continue to operate under their original settings and support terms and will not be affected by this update.
At present, this region-based activation system applies only to Snapmaker U1.
There are currently no plans to extend this system to other Snapmaker products. Any future updates, if applicable, will be communicated separately through official channels.
