The PLA Full Spectrum Filament Bundle is a four-filament set specially designed for the Full Spectrum feature on the Snapmaker U1, with Snapmaker Orca providing the slicing and print settings.
Instead of being limited to the colors of the loaded filaments, Full Spectrum uses different filament colors across printed layers. Light passing through the thin layers creates a visual color-blending effect, allowing four base filaments to produce a broader range of perceived colors.
Full Spectrum color mixing uses the optical properties of the filaments and layered printing to create blended colors.

Each blended color described above is based on two colors, with each color accounting for approximately 50% of the printed layers. Adjusting the layer ratio between the two colors can produce different blended colors and tones.
These blended colors are created by alternating different filament colors across printed layers. The final appearance depends on factors such as filament colors, Transmission Distance (TD), layer height, model geometry, and slicing settings.
The four filaments can be combined in different proportions and layer sequences to create a much broader visual palette than the four loaded colors alone.
However, Full Spectrum cannot reproduce every possible color and is not designed for high-accuracy color reproduction or professional color matching.
Layered color mixing also cannot produce pure white or pure black. Any white or black areas shown in Full Spectrum print examples are printed using other filaments, such as SnapSpeed PLA, rather than being produced through color mixing.
In general, mixing two to three filaments produces cleaner and more controllable colors. Mixing four filaments may produce darker or grayer tones and is therefore less suitable when you want bright or highly saturated colors.
Full Spectrum color mixing works better on three-dimensional models and is not recommended for flat models or 2D-style artwork.
The layered optical mixing effect is less effective when there is insufficient model thickness or volume. Small, fragmented, or highly detailed models may also produce less noticeable color-mixing effects.
Not necessarily. The software preview is intended to show color trends and help you fine-tune your settings. The final printed color may differ because of filament properties and actual printing conditions.

The recommended settings are based on a 0.4 mm nozzle. Printing conditions may vary depending on the nozzle diameter, model geometry, and other printing conditions.
For the best color-mixing effect, use a 0.4 mm or smaller nozzle and a layer height of 0.1 mm or lower. Snapmaker Orca V2.3.6 provides a dedicated 0.1 mm layer-height process profile for Full Spectrum printing, which is recommended for achieving the best results.
Subtle horizontal stripes or zebra-like patterns can naturally occur with Full Spectrum color mixing. Their visibility depends on factors such as layer height, nozzle size, and mixing ratio. When the mixing ratio between two colors differs significantly, the stripes may be more noticeable. For example, a 90% yellow + 10% cyan mix may show more visible stripes, while a 50% yellow + 50% cyan mix can produce a more uniform appearance with minimal visible layer lines.
