PLA-CF contains chopped carbon fibers that significantly enhance stiffness while retaining the easy-to-print characteristics of standard PLA. It also helps reduce shrinkage and warping and provides an industrial-style matte finish with less visible layer lines.
PLA-CF is ideal for precision-fit structural parts, jigs, fixtures, load-bearing brackets, barbell clips, monitor risers, pegboard mechanical arms, stools, and other applications that require high stiffness, dimensional stability, or an industrial-style matte finish.
PLA-CF features an industrial-style matte finish with carbon fiber texture that reduces the plastic-like appearance of standard PLA while helping to conceal layer lines, giving printed parts a refined and professional look.
Yes. PLA-CF retains PLA’s low-warp characteristics, while the carbon fibers further reduce shrinkage and warping. This improves dimensional accuracy and supports more reliable printing of large-format models.
No. PLA-CF does not require an enclosure or Top Cover for printing.
Yes. PLA-CF contains abrasive chopped carbon fibers that can cause wear to standard stainless steel hot ends. We recommend using a hardened steel hot end with PLA-CF. Do not use hot ends smaller than 0.4 mm, as it may cause clogging. The hardened steel hot end is sold separately.
No. PLA-CF is an abrasive filament that may accelerate wear on the printer’s automatic filament feeder. To protect the feeder and extend its service life, do not use the automatic feeding function. Always load and unload the filament manually.
Note: Since the RFID readers are located near the spool holders on both sides of the printer, RFID detection is unavailable during manual filament loading if the spool is not placed on a holder.
For optimal printing results, we recommend the following settings:
The recommended settings are based on a 0.4 mm nozzle. Printing conditions may vary depending on the nozzle diameter.
If layer adhesion is insufficient, reduce the cooling fan speed or increase the printing temperature as needed.
Store PLA-CF in a sealed container with desiccant and keep it away from direct sunlight.
Yes. The carbon fibers may give the filament and printed parts a slightly prickly feel. Avoid rubbing or touching rough edges or fractured surfaces with bare hands. Always wear protective gloves when loading or unloading the filament and during post-processing.
